dmoz : open directory project
The Open Directory provides the means for the Internet to organize itself. As the Internet grows, so do the number of net-citizens. These citizens can each organize a small portion of the web and present it back to the rest of the population, culling out the bad and useless and keeping only the best content. List of Morris and Sword Sides
This website is a catalog of information about sides (teams) that perform morris, sword, and other related English performance-oriented folk dance styles. It is comprised of three separate listings: an alphabetical listing of teams, a list arranged by country, and a list arranged by dance type. Jeff's list differs from others on the web in that it tries to comprehensively list all teams, not just those with web pages.
Note: This site hasn't been updated since about 2003, so use the contact information with some caution.

Mainly Morris Dancing
Mainly Morris Dancing has an excellent listing of UK and US sides. John has been making a tremendous effort to keep this directory up to date and it probably the best alphabetical listing of teams. Also has links to all the morris organization team contact lists. Concludes with a miscellany of links to books, articles on morris and related folk pages.

Master Mummers

The creator of this useful site notes that the "Master Mummers is not in competition with the TDRG's www.folkplay.info website. Rather, Master Mummers complements it with new interactive resources. In fact you could call it the 'colour supplement' to the Folk Play Research website." The Master Mummers website currently holds:

  1. A worldwide Directory of Folk Play Groups - details of over 250 groups, compiled from publicly available information. Mummers, guisers, and other folk play groups are encouraged to add or correct their entry in the listing
  2. A Folk Play Scripts Explorer - that lets you search the scripts database by keyword, examine variants of the lines found, plot distribution maps for them, and so forth.
  3. The beginnings of a 'Frequently Asked Questions' section - currently mainly performance advice.
  4. A general mapping utility - letting you plot your own simple British & Irish distribution maps, using lists of OS & OSI Grid References.

The Directory of Folk Play Groups has been enhanced with a maps mashup where provided latitude and longitude coordinates displays the location in an embedded Google Map. For the UK, Grid References link to Ordnance Survey maps. At its simplest, you can display a map and/or satellite image of a group's home town. Alternatively, you can view a distribution map for a set of search results, and click on the markers for more information.

Morris Links is a compendium of all known morris links and Rich knows a lot of them. Arranged geographically by country, and further subdivided by county in England or state, province or region in other countries. In addition, it contains links to articles and websites that mention the morris. In 2006, he moved this service over to a wiki format so that teams can edit their own entries.
