Firefox SUMMIT Search Plugin
Feeling a need, I decided to write a Firefox search plugin for Syracuse University's SUMMIT library catalog. I love how you can bang these things out in less than 10 minutes. The hardest part was actually creating an icon to go with the search script (I based it on the photo of the Diana statue that the Library already uses as its favicon.ico). The permanent home for this plugin (on my site anyway) is http://tomkeays.com/library/plugins/.
Install the SUMMIT Search Plugin to your Firefox search bar by clicking the install link. A search plugin allows you to access a search engine right from the search box on the Firefox toolbar. [more about search plugins]
The SUMMIT Search plugin performs an Advanced Search in SUMMIT using "keyword anywhere" on "all of these" words. It accepts normal "?" truncation and joins words with explicit "ANDs". Phrase searching is ignored.
