Messing About in Getting Things Done
I haven't been posting here much lately. Sort of swept up by the whole Getting Things Done (GTD) arc that's been playing over at 43 Folders and elsewhere. Enough so that I bought David Allen's Getting Things Done book a couple of days ago and have been immersed in discussions going on at the 43F Google Group.
And, ironically, not getting much done on the blogging front except to capture a few GTD items in my link blog.
I was really caught up in the thread on the 43F group about using wikis for GTD. Seemed like a good idea to me and I have been messing around with an easy to use, lightweight wiki called DokuWiki, the main attraction of which being that I saw that it might be a way for me to implement a GTD system that was both accessible on my webserver and available in some form on my Palm. I just finished a post to the 43F group on this a few minutes ago.
Of course, just before I hit send, Chris Metcalf posted his announcement of a his adaptation of PhpWiki (an environment I have also installed and played around with) specifically for GTD. He's calling it GtdWiki and, even in its preliminary form, it looks really excellent. So I now have that to keep me busy on top of everything else. Addendum: Chris put up a working demo.
I hope I can get something done.
