TV-B-Gone

(Via Wired News") Mitch Altman, engineer and founder of data-storage company 3ware, has invented a universal TV remote with only one button and purpose: to turn TVs (any TV) off (or on) with a single click. The TV-B-Gone, a tiny device that you can carry on a key chain, is all about freeing people from the attention-sapping hold of omnipresent television programming. When activated, it spends over a minute flashing out 209 different codes to turn off televisions, the most popular brands first. "What I really want," Altman said, "Is Life-B-Here."
