Avast Matey
Well, I know my blog is over a year old because last year on this day, I also celebrated International Talk Like a Pirate Day.
If you're unsure about how to do this (why is another question), I refer you to these brief instructions (via Making Light)
Rhotic, like, to the max.
The basic phonetic unit of pirate speech is the single long-drawn-out letter: R, I, A, etc.
Interpolate random piratical interjections: avast, belay, matey, me hearties, blow me down, bugger me standing, etc.
In a pinch, try the Pirate filter. If you're fluent in Gangsta, you can also use the Pirate - Gangsta glossary.
