Theology of WiFi

Last Sunday, a theology professor sitting outside a closed Nantucket library was told by a police officer not only to stop using the library's open WiFi connection, but to close his laptop as well. The officer was possibly correct that using a WiFi connection without the knowledge of the library a violation of federal laws, but more likely for the possibility of intercepting other people's information than for the given reason of preventing unlawful access to pornography. See AKMA's original blog posting and a follow-up posting. In any case, apparently the library is now only offering the WiFi connection during normal hours of service.
